What is NAD+ Infusion?

Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+) is a coenzyme found in all living cells. It serves both as a critical coenzyme for enzymes that fuel reduction-oxidation reactions, carrying electrons from one reaction to another, and as a co-substrate for other enzymes such as the sirtuins and poly(adenosine diphosphate–ribose) polymerases. Cellular NAD+ concentrations change during aging, and modulation of NAD+ usage or production can improve both health span and life span.

How does NAD+ work?

Short answer, NAD+ is an enzymatic factor and co-substrate involved in multiple complex series of metabolic processes. In particular to anti-aging studies, NAD+ has emerged as a critical factor in the prevention of mitochondrial deterioration. A number of pathways that extend life span help to maintain mitochondrial function, including mitochondrial biogenesis. The critical role of NAD+ in mitochondrial intermediary metabolism suggests that variations in NAD+ concentrations in this compartment may affect metabolic efficiency, aging, and aging-associated diseases.

How do you receive NAD+ supplementations?

NAD+ supplementation can be administered and taken through oral and intravenous. Most common is orally via pills or tablets. Oral NAD+ supplements are absorbed by your digestive system, which is a complex process that impacts how much your body actually absorbs. In fact, oral supplement absorption rates vary from person to person due to multiple factors such as circulatory systems, gastric emptying, and the body’s reaction to the supplementations. In addition to the complex gastrointestinal absorption rate, one must also consider the quality of the pills or tablets as NAD+ supplements are considered as dietary supplementation and are not under the same oversight as pharmaceuticals by Food and Drug Administrations.

Intravenous (IV) treatments are administered directly into your bloodstream. Because intravenous NAD treatments bypass the digestive system altogether, this type of supplementation ensures 100% absorption and is immediately available for use by your cells. In addition, NAD+ supplements is compounded by pharmacy and adheres to the rules of its respective state boards of pharmacy ensuring quality and sterility of the supplementation.

Why get IV NAD+ Supplementation

As mentioned above, NAD+ supplementation is great for anyone looking to improve their wellbeing, for general wellness and pursuit for optimal health. IV NAD treatments are most effective when used regularly over time. With long-term maintenance, we can achieve proper cellular support while preventing mitochondrial deterioration.
